description
Each olfactory instrument is minimalist and geometric in style, with no additional embellishments, inspired instead by the “International Style” in architecture characterised by clean and functional forms. These intruments play with shadow and light, which dances between the cut-out and metal facets to reveal the diffusion mechanism within. As light flickers over the intricately mounted components, it echoes across the intrument's elegant, clean lines.

Use and care
Use and care instructions for your Catalytic Diffusion instrument
Use
You have selected the 018_09 catalytic diffusion instrument featuring nine distinctive cut-outs. This instrument is a beautiful decorative object sculpted in France from solid brass. It diffuses D’ORSAY home fragrances in a powerful, continuous stream. Unscrew the housing from the base and insert the refill bottle. Light the stone, wait for two minutes and then blow out the flame. Allow the diffuser to release the right amount of fragrance to reach your desired intensity and then extinguish the flame by covering the stone with the snuffer cap.
Care
This brass object needs very little maintenance. Brass is a non-ferrous alloy which mankind has known since ancient times. It was used to craft jewellery and pieces of art, just like today. Following this line of thought, we could consider woodwind instruments like saxophones to be part of the “brass” family, as they are also made of this shiny metal. In its untreated form, this noble metal develops a patina with the passing of the seasons and years.
