Meet the aesthete Estelle Colin, Journalist. Interviews

“My strongest olfactory memory is the birth of my kids and the smell of baby skin”, Estelle Colin.

What is your strongest olfactory memory?

The strongest one was the birth of my children. That smell of their baby skin, a memory that will never fade away in my mind.

What is the craziest declaration that has been made to you?

My marriage proposal was a sentence I had in my head, i probably heard it in a movie. The man who later became my husband gave me these exact words: “I want you to be my wife and the mother of my children”. As to where this sentence is from, I don’t know, but his request was exactly those words. I said yes.

What is the most unusual place you have ever been asked on a date?

I got an invite to meet up In a hotel, but in reality I had to go through the lobby, come out the front door and a car was waiting for me to take me to the airport, with a flight ticket to Rome.

What scent would you like to make into a fragrance?

The smell of morning dew, of a clean cloth drying with hints of grass.

Perfume & Seduction: Does this sound still relevant to you?

Yes.Leave your mark with a scent. Not necessarily always faithful to this scent, infidelity can be beautiful when it comes to scents. It is beautiful to try different things.

Tell us about a moment in your life when you wished for time to stop and that it would last forever?

If you work a lot, you know exactly the moment I will talk about. It’s those rare mornings when we wake up after having an amazing night, a night in which we became one with our bed, we fell asleep in clean sheets with delicious smells. Very often I put a fragrance on my bed and my pillow after taking a bath or shower.

Your favorite time of the day?

Undeniably 5 p.m. The day is almost behind you, and the promise of the evening is in front of you. It’s that turning point in your day that I love.

What are your plans for this year?

I really want to keep being a journalist. This relationship with humans and these questions, to enter into people’s privacy and what they are willing to tell me. As the interviewer, we set the limits because the person can reveal a bit too much. The human relationship is what I would like to continue in 2021.
